GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
- Harvest method: Use scissors or a knife to cut the fruit from the vine, leaving a small stem attached to extend freshness.
- With proper care, the plant will continue producing fruits, allowing for multiple harvests throughout the growing season.
- Scatter the bitter melon seeds evenly in the soil, then cover them with a thin layer of soil (1-2 cm) to aid germination.
- If sowing in rows, maintain a 30-50 cm gap between plants to allow vines to spread and grow properly.
- Watering: Water gently once or twice a day to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.
- Fertilization: After 10-15 days, apply organic fertilizer or diluted NPK fertilizer to support vigorous vine growth and early fruiting.
- Prepare the soil: Choose loose, nutrient-rich, well-draining soil such as light clay, organic soil, or sandy soil. Remove weeds, loosen the soil, and mix in organic fertilizer or decomposed manure to improve fertility.
- Seed treatment: Soak the seeds in warm water (2 parts boiling water + 3 parts cold water) for 4-6 hours. Then, wrap them in a damp cloth and let them sit for 6-8 hours until they start to sprout. This speeds up germination.
